Finding calm in your mind

Sometimes it can feel like your tummy is full of anger, or like your mind keeps thinking about something sad. Maybe you feel scared, or you have trouble sleeping because something difficult has happened. For example, your parents may have separated, someone may have bullied you, or you may have gone through something else that felt really upsetting. At times like this, it can help to talk to someone who supports you in understanding and making sense of your thoughts and feelings. It can also be reassuring to hear that your thoughts, feelings and behaviour are not strange, but completely normal.

At Orthopedagoog in Verbinding, you can be exactly who you are. Together, we will explore what helps you feel safe, calm and happy again.

Learning to deal with your emotions

If you have been through a lot, it is understandable that you sometimes feel stuck. Maybe you often feel angry or sad and don’t really know why. You may not have had an easy start, or you might be carrying a lot with you. Sometimes it can feel like no one really understands you.

You might use substances, have conflicts at home or at school, have trouble sleeping or feel low. Maybe you sometimes feel like you don’t matter.

At Orthopedagoog in Verbinding, there is space for your story, without judgment. Together, we look for ways to deal with your emotions and to start believing in yourself again.

(Foster) parents

Stronger together in parenting

Parenting is not always easy, especially when your child shows strong emotions or behaviour that worries you. You may notice that your child withdraws, has frequent conflicts, feels anxious or struggles with trust. As a parent, you may sometimes feel powerless or unsure.

At Orthopedagoog in Verbinding, we look together at what your child needs, and also at what you as a parent need in order to support your child.

We believe in the power of connection and in restoring trust. You are not alone in this.
