Welcome!
Growing together in resilience and trust: living fully
Every child deserves to live life to the fullest! To play, to learn, to discover who they are, and to feel that they matter. In my guidance, the child is central, with their own story, pace and strengths. I support children and adolescents in overcoming the challenges they encounter along the way. Support that helps them process impactful experiences and create space again for connection, trust and development. Support that helps children better understand their feelings, thoughts and behaviour, so they feel stronger and can develop to their full potential.
Learning to cope with sadness, expressing anger and overcoming fears are all part of this process. The child’s resilience is at the heart of my work: the ability to bounce back, even in the face of major challenges or setbacks.
In a safe and trusted environment, we work together (with parents) on recovery, connection, growth and self-confidence. Every child deserves to feel seen, heard and understood.
Parents, foster parents and residential caregivers are essential partners in this process. Together, we create a safe foundation so the child feels supported and can restore and strengthen their connection with important others.
My mission
Helping children live instead of survive
Every child and young person deserves not just to survive, but to truly live, play, grow and learn. As a child, you should be able to discover who you are, what matters to you, and feel that you are worthy in connection with others. Having self-confidence, believing in yourself, being courageous and making the most of your unique qualities are all important in this. Orthopedagoog in Verbinding can support you in this process.
How?
Together you go further
Together with the child and parents, we start with a careful analysis of the situation and explore your request for support. This helps us understand what is going on and, most importantly, what is needed.
I then think along with you about a suitable approach, tailored to your situation. Based on this, we start the guidance, focusing on what is needed for processing, connection, resilience and growth. I may use methods such as CBT, EMDR or ACT therapy.
Together, we look at what is going on and what is needed. We choose an approach that fits the child, so that processing, connection, resilience and growth can develop.
Methods
At Orthopedagoog in Verbinding, we use different effective methods to support children and adolescents. The method we use depends on the specific request for help, needs and characteristics of the child. Our approach is always tailored, so that each treatment fits the individual situation.

Who I help
For children, adolescents and parents!
For children and young people who are struggling in their development due to difficult experiences. I support children and adolescents who have been bullied, have lost a loved one, have witnessed domestic violence, or have missed care and connection at important moments in their lives. These experiences can lead to anxiety, sadness, anger or distrust, and can make it difficult to feel safe, connected and seen. Together, we work on recovery, resilience and healthy development — in close collaboration with parents, foster parents or family homes.
Some young people often think back to difficult events, avoid certain situations, have trouble sleeping or feel low and irritable. Others struggle with their self-image, withdraw from others or express their pain through conflict, self-harm, substance use or excessive gaming. Orthopedagoog in Verbinding supports them in understanding their emotions, processing difficult experiences and gradually building resilience, healthy development and self-worth.
